PLAYERS
The Bonny Prince Charles of Aldridge
Bass The Bonny Prince Charles (BPC) comes to us from his namesake village of Aldridge, Town of Walsall in the West Midlands, England. As his family’s crest adorns his village, he graces us as the anchor in our rhythm section. As a longtime member of the well-known Skycoasters Party Band, his professional chops distill into a rock solid, enthusiastic approach. A truly royal addition! |
Gi Dabiyu
Vocals Hailing from Skofja Loka, Slovenia, Gí was groomed as a theatrical singer. Upon immigrating to America, Gí fell in love with the Blues–from the Delta, Chicago and from the great Blues shouters. With over thirty years as a working musician, he’s worked with the likes of Robert Cray, John Lee Hooker, John Mayall, Roomful of Blues, Junior Walker, The Spinners, Sam Moore, Buddy Guy and Junior Wells. Suffice it to say that he ‘brings it.’ |
Nickolas ‘Nick’ Odemus Lykalatapous
Percussion, Vocals Nick arrived from the Greek isle of Lesbos, where his parents introduced him to American music as a toddler. He became enthralled with the girl groups from Motown, but it was the rhythm section of those bands that inspired him to become a premier percussionist. His solid beat, energy and finesse command attention and inspiration from both performers and audiences. |
Sir Douglas MacDouglas MBE
Keys, Strings of all types, Vocals Sir Douglas was well on his way to becoming a concert violinist when a distaste for practice, a Sears Silverstone guitar and The Beatles changed all that. For 20+ years, he worked with The Skycoasters, touring globally and sharing the stage with acts like Chicago, Three Dog Night, Orleans, The Guess Who, and yes, Meatloaf. Top that off with a distinguished career as a music educator, and ‘Sir Doug’ completes the package very nicely indeed. |
Dr Robert ‘Rob’ Roulez
Guitars/Sax Rob was a founding member of The Skycoasters. He has crafted a gorgeous, creative sound with strings and horn. Rob can cover most any genre with aplomb. Rob is thoughtful, interesting and compelling in his playing–as he is as a person. We’re fortunate to have a guy with his talent and demeanor amongst us. As a true Frenchman, his motto is ‘Je me rends! Aux Blues.’—I surrender! To the Blues. |
